Grandstream GDMS — Common Questions

Everything you need to know about the Grandstream GDMS before you buy.

The Grandstream Device Management System (GDMS) is a free zero-touch cloud provisioning and management system. It provides easy-to-use enterprise-level tools to manage Grandstream products before, during and after deployment, through a centralised interface that can provision, manage, monitor and troubleshoot devices.
Yes. GDMS is provided free of charge by Grandstream for managing supported Grandstream devices, with no licence fee or per-device subscription for the core platform. Note that some related Grandstream cloud services, such as UCM RemoteConnect, have their own separate plans.
Zero-touch provisioning means a device downloads its own configuration the first time it connects to the network, instead of an engineer configuring it by hand. In practice you can ship a phone or access point directly to a branch office, have someone plug it in, and it comes online already configured, which removes most of the labour cost from a large rollout.
GDMS is designed to manage Grandstream endpoints across UC, networking and facility access environments, including IP phones, video phones, IP PBXs, DECT systems, access points, routers, switches and door access devices. Supported device coverage expands with new product releases, so check the current list for a specific model.
GDMS is the overall cloud management platform for Grandstream endpoints. GDMS Networking is the part of the platform focused specifically on Grandstream GWN series networking devices such as access points, routers and switches. Organisations running both UC and networking hardware use them together from the same account.
GDMS uses enterprise-grade security including bank-grade end-to-end TLS encryption, two-way certificate verification and encryption of all device information, together with two-factor login authentication to protect account access.
You can create a free GDMS account at gdms.cloud and begin adding devices by MAC address, by site or in batches. As an authorised Grandstream distributor for India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the Maldives, Cohesive Technologies can advise on structuring sites and groups, bulk provisioning and best practice for large rollouts — contact our team for pre-sales and deployment support.
Nothing for GDMS itself — the platform is free to use with Grandstream devices. What is purchased separately are the Grandstream cloud services that GDMS deploys and manages, such as UCM RemoteConnect plans and CloudUCM subscriptions, plus the hardware you are provisioning through it. Cohesive Technologies is an authorised Grandstream distributor for India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and the Maldives, and can quote those services and devices alongside pre-sales support on provisioning templates and rollout planning.
